mglearn Classroom Resources

mglearn is a collection of classroom-ready learning activities and tools created by Miguel Guhlin in his work as Director of Professional Development at TCEA, the Texas Computer Education Association. Each suite opens as its own self-contained site: interactive activities, teacher views, printables, and in several cases Spanish or additional language versions.

What you can do with it

The Activities Hub gathers most of the suites in one searchable place, including Critical Thinking Online Breakouts, Science Detectives, lab safety certification, literature rooms, barrier games, digital math tools, and Gen AI literacy. Language Bridge carries 22 bilingual and ESL activities for emergent bilingual students. The ELE Activity Bank holds 95 ready-to-run activities for professional learning and K–16 classrooms, each with a facilitator guide and a print-ready packet. Teacher Printables adds middle-school science labs and classroom-management materials, and the TCEA directory indexes the wider set of HTML tools, dashboards, and prompt libraries.

Who it is for

It is aimed at K–12 teachers and the professional developers who train them, with activity suites spanning prekindergarten onward. Materials are designed to work without accounts and, where they are printable, on paper.

Notes and caveats

Content is licensed CC BY-NC 4.0 and the underlying code MIT: classroom use, local hosting, and adaptation are permitted with credit, while selling the materials or bundling them into paid training requires written permission from TCEA. Works by other people are excluded from the license, and literature activities reproduce no text from copyrighted works. The project states that content and translations were produced with generative AI under editorial review, and that translations are machine-assisted and flagged for local educator review before classroom use, which is worth taking seriously before a district adopts them at scale. Every activity runs in the student's browser with no logins and no data collection.
